About us …
Language is a skill for life.
We are a group of teachers and
parents who wanted
their students and own children to read books about Australia
in the second language that they were learning. As discussed on our PARENTS
page, books and stories are an enjoyable way to learn any language. Reading is one of the four language
skills that students need to encompass
in whatever language they are learning.
The parent company for the
language
tutoring and translation business was formed in 1990 in Sydney.
Our
publishing careers began with another Australian publisher in 1995.
Opal
Affinity Books was established in 1996 to write and publish bilingual
stories
about Australia.
